Frankfurt is Germany’s fifth-largest city and is considered to be its most international city and its only global financial hub. Frankfurt is also at the heart of the Rhine-Main area, which is home to approximately 5.8 million people and which is characterized by high purchasing power and low unemployment rates. According to the city of Frankfurt, 365,000 businesses with a total of 2.5 million employees are based in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region, jointly generating an annual gross domestic product of around 193 billion euros.
